Township Trustees Kevin Kruzel and Justin Bailey serve as township trustees. Elected trustees share the responsibility with the administration to help set policy and oversee the fiscal health of the Township. Trustees serve a term of four years. The trustees are voting members of the Board, like the Supervisor, Clerk and Treasurer, and participate in all Township decisions and deliberations. As elected members of the public at large, they also serve to insure the Township is being administered appropriately.

Township Park Campground & Nature Trails The Drummond Island Township Park is located just off M-134, approximately 5 miles east of the ferry dock. The park features a 47-site campground that accommodates both tents and RVs up to 31 feet, with each site including a picnic table and fire pit. About half of the sites offer electric hookups, and shared amenities include outhouses and two drinking water spigots. The park is open year-round, with camping available May 1 through October 31. Online reservations are now available. ➡️ [Click here for more details about the campground, site amenities, and how to reserve your stay.] Golf Course The Drummond Island Golf Course is located on Fairchild Lane, off Townline Road, and just north of the Four Corners. It is a 9-hole, par 36 course with affordable rates. It offers a unique feature: an airport runway that runs along the side of the par 3 No. 4. The course also offers fling golf, a driving range, practice putting green , tennis & pickle ball and a pro shop. There are carts available to rent as well. Call (906) 493-5406 to schedule a tee time or reserve a court. Find more information about the golf course here. Historical Museum The Drummond Island Historical Museum is located at 33492 S. Water Street on the north side of the island. The museum is open from late May through mid-October. The museum features island history and includes artifacts from Native Americans, Finnish Farmers and Yankee Settlers. Museum hours are 1 to 5 pm, 7 days a week. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Big Shoal Beach Big Shoal Beach is located on the southeast part of the island off of Johnswood Road. Take Johnswood approximately 6.5 miles from the 4 corners, then make a right on Big Shoal Bay Road. This sandy beach is approximately a mile down on the right. There is parking and a public toilet. The water is shallow and the lake bottom here is relatively sandy making it a popular spot for families with small children.

Township Treasurer Jeanette Alguire serves as Drummond Township Treasurer. She was elected in November 2024. She can be reached at 906/493-5321 or treasurer@drummondislandtownship.org As Treasurer, some of her official duties include: Responsible for all revenues received by Drummond Township from bank and investment accounts and tax collection. Maintains Township receipt records in accordance with the Uniform Chart of Accounts as directed by the State Treasurer. Assists residents and property owners with the tax related issues. Collaborates with Township Board of Trustees to develop the annual Township budget. Tax Tips If your address changes or if you want your bill sent to a winter address, please let us know so we can update our database. Summer 2024 taxes are due September 16. Late interest and penalties began accruing September 17. Taxes may be paid to the township until the last day of February. Winter taxes are due the last day of February . Beginning March 1, all taxes are considered delinquent and must be paid to the Chippewa County Treasurer. Please check your winter bill to see if it says "Summer Taxes Owing". If that is the case, your summer bill still has a balance owed.

Look for the Township Park sign on the left to turn down the gravel road to the campground. The park features 47 campsites, accommodating both RVs and tents, with: Picnic tables & fire pits at every site Electric hook-ups at half of the sites Outhouses & two fresh water spigots Access to hiking trails and a public beach Please note: The campground is located in a residential area. Drive carefully, watch for wildlife and pedestrians, and respect all posted rules and quiet hours. Please note that cell phone service is usually accessible from the ferry, but not everywhere on the island, including on the route to the campground. Amenities Drummond Island Township Campground offers a quiet and scenic retreat surrounded by natural beauty, perfect for a relaxing escape into the outdoors. The 43-site campground accommodates both tents and RVs up to 31 feet, with about half of the sites offering electric hookups. Additional options can be found in other areas around the island, making it easy to grab supplies or enjoy a meal out during your stay. Nature Trails at Township Park One of the campground’s standout features is its direct access to the Drummond Island Heritage Trail , a peaceful, wooded path system ideal for walking, hiking, and enjoying the island’s natural beauty. Along the trail, you'll find interpretive signs installed through a local grant program. These signs share insights about the island’s wildlife, ecology, and cultural history, adding an educational layer to your outdoor experience. The trail is part of a broader network supported and maintained by Drummond Island Silent Sports, a dedicated volunteer group that promotes non-motorized recreation across the island.
